Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in a healthcare setting. This role involves providing specialized critical care to pediatric patients with respiratory failure, dehydration, seizures, and other urgent medical conditions. Candidates will deliver patient-centered care within a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes indicate candidates will work in a PICU with 8 beds, caring for pediatric patients with diagnoses such as respiratory failure, dehydration, seizures, suicide attempts, overdoses, poisoning, ventilator needs, and diabetic ketoacidosis. The unit utilizes Cerner electronic medical records and is equipped with Spacelab tele monitors. The environment requires reading and interpreting strips independently. An in-house intensivist is available 24/7, with an in-house IV team supporting medication and fluid administration. The unit also involves general pediatric, burn, and NICU float responsibilities for non-burn care pediatrics.
• Required Qualifications:
  BLS Certification, PALS Certification, minimum of 3 years pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) experience, valid license to practice.
• Schedule:
  Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/12/2026 and ending on 01/11/2027.
• Additional Information:
  Travelers are the first to float to other units such as general pediatrics, burn unit, and NICU (voluntary). Candidates should be prepared to float as needed. Hospital cancellations may occur up to four shifts in a 13-week assignment, or three shifts for shorter assignments.
