Fiscal Support Specialist- Cashier

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Controller, the Fiscal Support Specialist is responsible for performing cashier, front office and student accounting duties as part of the Business Office Team. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

Salary: Annual salary of $33,280. Plus, excellent benefit package.

None

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves as Primary Contact for the Business Office answering phone, as well as routing calls and welcoming and assisting visitors in a friendly professional manner
• Handling student queries via phone and email efficiently
• Primary Cashier - Receives cash payments and receipts cash and credit card payments
• Completes Reconciliation and Reports at end of each shift
• Print and enter journal entries into Jenzabar software accurately and timely
• Scan, index, and file documents accordingly
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Business Office

Skills and Abilities:

• Energetic and friendly attitude providing administrative support and customer service
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of computers and software applications; Proficiency in financial software, particularly Jenzabar, is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in handling cash and credit transactions
• Ability to work under pressure at times

Required Education and Experience:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus 1-3 years of front office; cashier; basic accounting experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

The formal education equivalent of an associate's degree. Experience in student accounting using the Jenzabar accounting software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with other accounting software is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The individual must be able to sit for long periods of time. They must be able to utilize computer and office equipment. They must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
