Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring 3+ years of acute OR experience and NE or compact RN license.
Details
Acute care setting in a Level 3 trauma facility within the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
7 operating rooms, 1 cysto room, and 2 c-section rooms (covered by both L&D and main OR staff)
Average 15-24 cases per day
Common cases include total joint ortho, C-sections, urology, spine, ENT, GI, general surgery, and vascular procedures (fem pops, cut downs, hybrid cath lab cases, stents, fistulas, CABG)
No robotic or neuro cases performed
Pediatric cases limited to tubes and tonsils, with rare appendectomy cases
Uses EPIC EMR
Day shift schedule: 0630-1500 or 9:00-17:30, Monday-Friday
Charge nurse coverage 0630-1500 Monday-Friday, with on-call house supervisors for after-hours needs
OR techs supported on the unit
No floating required
General OR call: 5-6 shifts per month including one weekend (Friday-Sunday)
CVOR call: 10-11 shifts per month including every other weekend (Friday-Sunday)
Call response time of 20 minutes required
Scrubbing not required for RNs
Requirements
Active RN license (NE or compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
Minimum 3 years of acute OR experience required
High preference for candidates with total joint ortho experience
Must be able to support C-section cases
Prior travel nursing experience preferred, with ability to quickly integrate into the unit
Additional Information
Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical unit
Scrubs provided by the facility
Orientation includes one half day with HR followed by 3-4 days on the unit shadowing a tech
Holiday on-call coverage required if a holiday falls within the contract period
Must reside within a 45-mile radius of the facility
Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week period
