Senior Network Engineer

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco route/switch technologies to join our healthcare IT team supporting NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining highly available/secure network infrastructure supporting patient care and hospital operations. Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot Layer 2/3 networks using Cisco switches and routers (ex. Catalyst 9K) both remotely and on-site at NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn
• Monitor network performance solutions (SolarWinds, NetBrain) and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and minimal downtime for mission-critical hospital systems.
• Manage network access control, segmentation, and VLAN configuration
• Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to ensure seamless network connectivity for IoT and critical systems
• Work with change management team to perform needed maintenance on both HW/SW, while ensuring compliance with defined policies and procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
• Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and inventory.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching in a medium-to-large enterprise environment.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification (Enterprise or Route/Switch) (or equivalent work experience)
• Experience with Cisco Secure Network Analytics, SolarWinds, Netbrain or similar network monitoring and management tools.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, STP, and QoS.
• Experience with enterprise IPAM, DNS, DHCP solutions (ex. InfoBlox) • Previous experience in healthcare setting
• Familiarity with wireless networking (Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, APs).
