Location: Weston, Wisconsin

Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital / Health System

Start Date: ASAP

Length of Assignment: Travel Contract (13 weeks to start, Contract-to-Hire eligible)

Schedule: Overnight Shift (10:00 PM - 8:00 AM), 10-hour shifts; 7 days on / 7 days off preferred

State License Needed: Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License

Pay & Compensation: The travel pay averages $3,115/week gross . The pay varies slightly due to the 7-on/7-off schedule - one week they work 4 days and gross approximately $3,335 , and the following week they work 3 days and gross approximately $2,895 . Over the two-week rotation, it averages out to $3,115/week gross .

Local rate up to $83/hr but must be within commutable driveable distance.

About the Role

Medix is seeking a dedicated and autonomous Pharmacist to join our clinical team for a travel assignment with a premier hospital partner in Weston, WI. In this role, you will play a critical part in overnight hospital operations, supporting multidisciplinary teams across critical care, emergency medicine, surgical services, and acute care units.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overnight inpatient pharmacy operations, ensuring timely script fills, cart refills, and accurate medication dispensing across hospital departments.
• Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding, including bedside compounding in emergency and acute care settings as clinically required.
• Participate in emergency code coverage and provide immediate clinical pharmacy support for critical care, ED, and surgical units.
• Conduct clinical consultations with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff regarding dosing, drug interactions, and therapeutic management.
• Utilize Cerner EHR along with Omnicell and Pyxis automated dispensing systems to maintain accurate patient records and inventory control.
• Work independently to oversee pharmacy operations during the night shift while upholding strict patient safety and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Pharmacist License in the State of Wisconsin.
• Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
• Clinical Skills: Demonstrated ability to practice independently in an acute care hospital environment with strong clinical judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior inpatient, emergency department, or critical care hospital pharmacy experience.
• Hands-on experience with sterile compounding and code response protocols.
• Familiarity with Cerner EHR and Pyxis/Omnicell automated systems.
