The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in patients. This role involves working closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered therapy services.
The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure compliance with clinical and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Evaluation & Treatment
• Assess patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills
Clinical Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Collaboration & Patient Support
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and therapy teams
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and progress
• Provide guidance on home care and therapy exercises
Therapy & Rehabilitation Support
• Use evidence-based practices and therapy techniques
• Support patients in achieving functional communication goals
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions
Must-Have Qualifications
• Utah Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License
• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in hospital or clinical settings
• Familiarity with speech and swallowing therapy techniques
• Experience working with diverse patient populations
