About the Position

Job Title: RN - Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care Telemetry RN experience License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS & ACLS required, NIH Certification preferred Description: Travel opportunity for an RN specializing in Telemetry. The unit has 18 beds with a team-focused environment. Staffing includes 1 Charge RN and 3-4 RNs during the day shift, with 2 PCTs. Night shift consists of 1 Charge RN, 3-4 RNs, and 2 PCTs. Patient ratios are RN to patient, 5:1. Equipment includes GE wireless telemetry boxes and Welch Allen vital sign machines. EMR system is Meditech. Candidates must have a positive attitude and a teamwork-oriented mindset. Preferred or desirable skills include trauma and orthopedic experience, as well as neuro/stroke experience. Typical procedures performed include neurovascular checks on limbs and frequent ambulation/repositioning. The unit treats a variety of cases including trauma and orthopedic injuries. Team members assist new staff and have a strong camaraderie. This position offers exposure to numerous patient cases such as chest pain, stroke workups, chronic cardiac conditions, blunt force trauma, and related injuries.
