Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3+ years of ICU experience and a current CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU/CCU unit of a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Possible float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele units
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic and Allscripts charting experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, and NIHSS
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC
• Skilled in CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with chronic/acute renal failure management; CRRT/CVVHD experience preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and sheath removal preferred
• Skilled in phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and blood product administration
• Ultrasound-guided PIV and Level 1/Rapid Infuser experience preferred
• Must pass an advanced EKG exam onsite (80% or higher, two attempts prior to start, one onsite attempt)
• References required for consideration
• Copies of required certifications must be submitted for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU/CCU patients, including multi-system organ failure management
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and surgical wound/drain care
• Manage patients requiring emergency medications and procedural sedation
• Follow infection prevention and isolation precaution protocols with proper PPE use
• Must be willing to work holidays
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for the duration of the contract
• All time off requests must be submitted with the initial application and cannot be changed except to cancel
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Return staff considered on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
