Location:

Latham, NY. This is a hybrid opportunity with at least 3 days per week on-site. We are ideally looking for candidates who live within approximately a 45-minute commute of the Latham office.

Note:

Candidates must have 3+ years of public accounting experience and be comfortable independently preparing complex tax returns, researching tax issues, and taking increased ownership of client engagements.

Job Description

• Prepare complex federal and state tax returns with increasing independence.
• Research complicated tax matters and clearly document findings and conclusions.
• Write tax memoranda outlining issues, analysis, and recommendations.
• Serve as a client contact for routine questions, follow-up, and engagement needs.
• Communicate effectively with clients, partners, managers, and other engagement team members.
• Take ownership of tax engagement fieldwork and help ensure assignments are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Delegate work appropriately and take responsibility for successful completion.
• Coach and provide real-time feedback to developing team members.
• Participate actively in technical training and professional development.
• Maintain professional standards consistent with AICPA requirements and protect client confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of public accounting experience required.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
• Experience preparing complex tax returns with limited supervision.
• Strong tax research, analytical, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Strong communication and client-service skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively while taking ownership of assigned work.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred, but not required.
