Emergency Management Coordinator

As an Emergency Management Coordinator I, you will work with County departments, public safety agencies, community organizations, businesses, and residents to support all phases of emergency management: preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Key responsibilities Assisting in the development, review, and implementation of emergency operations plans, policies, and procedures. Supporting disaster response and recovery operations from the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or field command locations. Coordinating emergency resources, personnel, equipment, and supplies during incidents. Planning and conducting emergency exercises, drills, and training programs. Developing reports, emergency preparedness guides, public information materials, and operational briefings. Working with government agencies, schools, businesses, and community groups to improve disaster readiness. Monitoring emergency situations and helping coordinate Countywide response efforts. Serving on a rotating Duty Officer schedule to support emergency operations and incident management. Conducting field assessments and supporting disaster recovery activities following emergencies. Qualifications Needed Option I Master's degree in Homeland Security or Emergency Management. Option II Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience supporting emergency management, emergency response, disaster recovery, or disaster preparedness programs. Option III Five (5) years of emergency management-related experience, including three (3) years at the Program Specialist I level or higher.
