Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care to adolescent patients in a Behavioral Health unit. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered support in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess the mental health needs of adolescents and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses in accordance with physician orders.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and therapeutic activities to support patient recovery.
• Document patient progress, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and unit policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and family members to optimize treatment outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid registered nurse (RN) license.
• Have at least 2 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing.
• Possess current BLS and CPI certifications.
• Demonstrate strong assessment skills and ability to manage acute psychiatric situations.
• Exhibit calm, compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of pediatric behavioral health preferred.
