Senior Java Backend Engineer - Agentic AI & Spec-Driven Development

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications, microservices, and distributed systems supporting enterprise platforms. The role focuses on building secure, high-throughput, and reliable backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Apache Kafka , while incorporating modern Agentic AI and Spec-Driven Development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot .
- Build scalable and resilient distributed systems for enterprise applications.
- Develop event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging solutions using Apache Kafka .
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Design RESTful APIs and backend services with emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Apply Spec-Driven Development (SDD) practices by translating detailed technical specifications and API contracts into production-ready implementations.
- Contribute to Agentic AI solutions, including AI-powered workflows, intelligent agents, tool integrations, and automated decision/workflow orchestration.
- Integrate AI agents with backend services, APIs, event streams, and enterprise systems where appropriate.
- Develop reliable, maintainable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field .
Preferred Technical Knowledge
Knowledge of, familiarity with, or exposure to Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Agentic AI, and Spec-Driven Development through coursework, certifications, internships, personal projects, professional training, or equivalent learning is preferred.
