Software Engineer CNO Tactical AI

Salary: $275,000 - 275,000 per year Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.
• Deep expertise in AI/ML, Python software engineering, Linux systems, and CNO.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI development tools such as Claude Code.
• Proven ability to architect scalable, high-impact solutions.
• Strong track record of quickly diagnosing and resolving complex production issues.
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders, translating needs, and prototyping and demoing MVPs.
• Production software development experience in Python.
• Experience designing and building distributed or backend software systems.
• Experience creating AI-enabled applications with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or similar technologies.
• Experience developing REST APIs and integrating multiple data sources.
• Experience working with SQL, Elasticsearch, or similar data storage technologies.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and engineering best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience partnering directly with mission customers to define requirements and deliver operational solutions.
• Nice-to-have: experience with MCP, PydanticAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar AI frameworks.
• Nice-to-have: experience deploying applications with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized environments.

• Design, build, and maintain production AI-enabled software applications using Python and modern engineering practices.
• Architect and implement LLM-driven workflows, RAG pipelines, and AI agent capabilities that address mission needs.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support AI applications.
• Convert natural-language requests into deterministic analytical workflows by integrating mission data sources, databases, and search platforms.
• Work directly with mission stakeholders to understand operational processes and rapidly prototype customer-focused AI solutions.
• Combine structured and unstructured data from multiple sources into scalable AI applications.
• Assess emerging AI frameworks, models, and software engineering approaches for mission relevance.
• Mentor junior engineers and help shape technical architecture, engineering standards, and software design across the team.
