From our beginnings, WCCH has been a leader in rural health care. Webster County Community Hospital has grown from a small house used in the earliest beginnings to the current location of our 13-bed Critical Access Hospital. It is complemented by the Webster County Clinic, a rural health clinic attached to our facility.

Housing: Please contact the MSP Program Manager for a list of housing options. Traveler will need reliable transportation, as Red Cloud is a rural community and no public transportation (bus, Uber, Lyft, etc.) is available.

Location Notes

Travelers may park anywhere at the facility. There is a staff lounge available, and travelers may use employee meal pricing at $4.00 per meal. No cell phones or AirPods should be used while in resident care areas.

Department Notes

43-bed licensed LTC and Skilled facility; no designated memory care unit. No Assisted Living facility.

3 hallways with private and semi-private rooms, with the nurses station centrally located. Average census is 25-27 residents.

Day Staffing: 1 RN, 1 Med Aide, 2 CNAs, 1 Bath Aide, 1 Restorative Care CNA

Night Staffing: 1 RN and 1 CNA. Sometimes an additional CNA is available from 6:00pm-10:00pm, but not always.

Charting: Point Click Care

Communication: Pagers

Lifts: Sit-to-stand and Hoyer

Medication: Medication carts with bubble pack distribution. IV fluids will be administered at the hospital, not at the LTC facility. On rare occasions the RN may be required to do a blood draw on a resident, but the Lab comes over from the hospital to do blood draws.

Specialty Profile Notes

Minimum two (2) years of experience working as an LPN in a Long-Term Care setting. Will not float between hospital and LTC.

Requirements: Licensed as an LPN in the State of Nebraska or a Compact State, and an active BLS issued through the American Heart Association.

Shift: 12-hour shifts, 6:00AM-6:30PM or 6:00PM-6:30AM, with every other weekend. Schedule is posted 4 weeks at a time. Block scheduling is not available.

Dress Code: Professional scrub top and bottom must be worn at all times but may be any color. No other facility logos or names may be shown on scrubs. No Crocs may be worn. Fingernails should be an appropriate length for resident care, and piercings should be professional and not excessive. Tattoos and vibrant hair colors are permitted. Agency should provide a badge to the Traveler, and it must be worn at chest level.

Orientation: May start any day of the week, as there is no set orientation schedule. Will start with Human Resources, including completing HealthStream modules, and will finish out the day on the floor. Two days of shadowing with another staff member are typically provided.
