Entry-Level Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities Utilize hand and power tools, precision measurement instruments, and electronic testing devices. Ensure the safe operation of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Interpret blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and technical specifications. Troubleshoot equipment issues using precision measuring and testing tools. Conduct boiler chemical and wastewater pre‑treatment system testing, record findings, and make necessary adjustments. Perform regular safety checks on boilers and execute required repairs. Record and analyze utility meter readings, taking corrective actions when necessary. Execute daily and weekly system safety checks, following up to address any concerns. Inspect motors, belts, fluid levels, replace filters, and conduct other maintenance tasks according to procedures. Clean and lubricate equipment parts as outlined in maintenance procedures and technical manuals. Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System for tracking tasks. Complete other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Two‑year technical degree in a relevant field is preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required. Knowledge of maintenance equipment is essential. Minimum of 6 months of experience in repairing industrial processing equipment is required. Military experience is also considered. Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to qualify for employment. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics is necessary. Ability to read and comprehend maintenance documentation in English is required. Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills are mandatory. Experience with Lockout/Tagout procedures is required.
