Job DescriptionMercury Systems is seeking a motivated Buyer II to support procurement activities that ensure the timely delivery of materials, products, and services critical to our mission. In this role, you will partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to procure materials and services while supporting production schedules, customer commitments, and business objectives. You will manage the procurement lifecycle from sourcing and purchase order placement through supplier performance, issue resolution, and contract compliance. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Job Responsibilities:Procure materials, products, and services to support manufacturing, operational, and program requirementsManage the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier sourcing, RFQs, purchase order creation, order maintenance, invoice resolution, and supplier follow-upEvaluate supplier proposals based on cost, quality, delivery, and overall value while ensuring continuity of supplyNegotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and other commercial agreements to support business objectivesEnsure procurement activities comply with company policies, CPSR requirements, FAR/DFARS regulations, and applicable government contracting requirementsMonitor supplier performance and proactively resolve quality, delivery, and contractual issues to minimize production disruptionsSupport inventory management initiatives while meeting departmental objectives for cost savings, on-time delivery, and supplier performanceEngage suppliers early in the product development lifecycle to support cost targets, manufacturability, and long-term sourcing strategiesAnalyze procurement data and market trends to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and supply chain optimizationCommunicate procurement status, risks, and mitigation plans with program teams and leadershipRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related fieldTypically requires 2+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related business experienceProficiency utilizing ERP/MRP systems, preferably OracleStrong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skillsWorking knowledge of government procurement regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and CPSR requirementsDemonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage competing deadlines in a dynamic environmentStrong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills“This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations.
