Gastroenterology Physician

Opportunity:

Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• Provide locum tenens gastroenterology coverage on a Monday through Friday schedule
• Perform scheduled colonoscopies and visit inpatient consults from the prior night
• Conduct additional GI lab procedures as needed following scheduled colonoscopies
• See 5-7 patients per shift
• Board certification required at a minimum of certified level
• Fellowship training required
• Required certifications include ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Required procedural skills include:
  • Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, and injection of varices
  • ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic)
  • Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)
  • Esophageal dilatation, manometry, and manometry interpretation
  • Small bowel biopsy
  • Lower GI endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
  • Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp
  • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
  • Liver biopsy
  • Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
