Onsite or Remote Fully On-Site Work Schedule Day shifts Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with weekend and holiday rotations. On-Call and shift rotations are required, as needed.

Salary Range: $68.84 - 83.9 Hourly Employment Type 2 - Staff: Career Duration Indefinite

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This position will support the Valley - West Region. The Valley - West Region is currently comprised of UCLA Health Encino Interventional and Imaging Center, UCLA Health Calabasas Imaging Center, UCLA Health Westlake Village Women's Imaging Center and UCLA Thousand Oaks Primary & Specialty Care. This position participates in on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules, prepared by the manager and supports one of the medical centers supported by UCLA Health system. Additionally, participation in rotating shifts is required, as needed.

In this role, you will:

• Provide age-appropriate assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and families served
• Obtain, evaluate and use information from the patient requisition, medical records, referring physician and correlate with acquired images
• Use cognitive sonographic skills, to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology
• Use independent judgement to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing diagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our interpreting physicians
• Extend courtesy to our patients, family members, visitors and co-workers through our "World Class Practices" Service Standards

Staff Ultrasound Technologist

• At least 1 year of acute care (hospital) experience required
• RDMS credential in one specialty (Abdomen or OBGYN) required

Senior Ultrasound Technologist

• 4 years of prior acute care (hospital) experience required (Advancement into Senior job classification can be assessed after 6 months with UCLA Health)
• RDMS credential in Abdomen, OBGYN and RVT required

General Requirements

• BLS/CPR Certificate - required
• Graduate of CAAHAP ultrasound program strongly preferred
• AAS or higher in Medical Sonography preferred
• RDMS (AB or OBGYN) minimum requirement
• Advanced skills in Vascular and / or MSK ultrasound - preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff and others in a professional and courteous manner
• Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately
• Ability to employ independent decision making, prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks to completion within allotted time
• Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
• Basic typing skills to input various data into RIS and HIS Information systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
