The Occupational Therapist will deliver occupational therapy services to patients, which includes conducting screenings and evaluations, developing treatment plans, implementing treatments, reassessing and revising plans, re-evaluating patients, planning for discharge, and maintaining documentation. Additionally, the Occupational Therapist will engage in program planning and protocol development as needed, contributing to the team’s efforts to achieve set objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluation services that involve reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and making recommendations while documenting the results. Communicate evaluation outcomes and treatment plans to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in goal-setting.

• Exhibit expertise in executing treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient conditions, and the dynamic healthcare landscape. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary. Identify and document any changes in the patient’s condition that may require adjustments to the care plan or additional medical/rehabilitation consultations.

• Carry out effective discharge planning and follow-up care. Ensure timely and accurate documentation and billing for patient care activities, reflecting the evolving healthcare environment. This includes a clear depiction of the patient’s care journey, from initial evaluations and care plans to daily notes, interim progress reports, and discharge evaluations.

• Demonstrate strong time management skills and meet productivity targets. Maintain an accurate schedule. Show a professional commitment to facilitating seamless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathetic behaviors in a patient-centered environment.

• Proactively seek and direct continuing education opportunities for personal and organizational growth and competency. Act as a clinical instructor for students and assist in the orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

• Licensure in Maryland, the District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for your specific location(s).

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

This position offers a salary range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year.
