Facilities Engineer

Job TitleEnsures the safe, efficient operation of building infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) by designing, maintaining, and upgrading systems. Manage facility layouts, ensure compliance with building codes/safety regulations, oversee contractors, and develop budgets for repairs. This hands-on role requires a blend of technical expertise, hands on work ethic, project management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding Systems Maintenance: Perform as well as oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, lighting, and fire protection.Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of all facility equipment.Project Management: Perform and Manage facility-related projects, including renovations, equipment upgrades, and office reconfigurations, from conception to completion. This includes budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing contractors.Safety and Compliance: Ensure all facilities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and building codes. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills.Vendor and Contractor Management: Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and manage the work of external vendors and contractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.Energy Management: Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability.Emergency Response: Serve as a key point of contact for facility-related emergencies and develop and maintain emergency response plans.Space Planning: Assist with space planning and office moves to accommodate the changing needs of the organization.Continuous Improvement: Support the continuous improvement of facility operations by proactively identifying opportunities for enhancing system performance and reliability.
