Summary:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for leading competitive tendering and contract negotiations, including conducting research and analysis to ensure the best overall value to Scantibodies Laboratory. Maintain relations with suppliers, search out, and cultivate quality and competitive pricing. Obtain supplies, raw materials and services at the highest quality, most competitive pricing and in a timely fashion to support company activities. Develop and implement ideas and procedures to work towards continual process improvement. Support production and activities of the company in an efficient and timely fashion

Essential Duties:

·         Negotiate service contracts, purchasing contracts

·         Purchase, as required, items needed to support the production and activities of the company, obtain quotes and bids in support of internal customer needs, including international requirements

·         Consistently review and process all order requirements, including purchase order requests, MinMax and MRP, in a timely manner

·         Adhere to and follow all ISO standards and GMP’s and serve as a model for compliance to regulations and standards in all aspects of the job

·         Establish and negotiate contract pricing where applicable to ensure product or service availability and market share

·         Identify, qualify and select those suppliers who can serve the needs of the company, including International suppliers

·         Perform cost reduction analysis on purchases where applicable

·         Resolve receiving, inspection and accounting issues with suppliers and internal customers

·         Establish and negotiate contract pricing where applicable to ensure product or service availability and market share

·         Develop, enhance and execute new improved procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing.

·         Assist with composition, review and monitor MRO, Heavy Equipment & PM supplier contracts and agreements.

·         Institute policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics that will reduce our overall expenses while increasing productivity.

·         Explore alternate sources for goods and materials

·         Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers

·         Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers

·         Represent Department in company activities

·         Regular, reliable and predictable attendance

·         May perform other job related duties as assigned

·         May be assigned to any Scantibodies location for any period of time

·         May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. This may include duties in another department or outside your normal scope of work

Job Specification:

·         7 years + a degree or equivalent experience (10 years work experience), Biotech experience preferred

·         2+ years experience with purchasing and sourcing overseas

·         Bilingual in English and Spanish required

·         CPIM, CSCP or CPM certification not required but preferred

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         General personal computer knowledge

·         Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

·         Credibility with senior management, business partners, relevant agencies and customers

·         Excellent strategic thinking, including the ability to help define the direction of the laboratory and manufacturing organization in support of company objectives

·         Comfort level with challenging others and having your own ideas challenged

·         Set the highest standards of achievement and capable of assisting others to realize the same

·         Set and adhere to the highest level of integrity, morals and ethic

·         High degree of professionalism with the ability to be a high energy, passionate champion for the company

·         Sensitivity to customer requirements and align action in accordance with customer needs

·         Stay in close communication with senior management 

Valid driver’s license, current proof of insurance and clean driving record
