Job Summary: Pediatric Float Registered Nurse (PEDS FLOAT) Prescott Valley, AZ
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide pediatric and Medical-Surgical (MST) nursing care within a mixed adult and pediatric unit. The role includes caring for both adult and pediatric patients, with potential floating to support unit needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts (1930/0730) with a minimum of 36 hours per week; every other weekend requirement (Friday and Saturday for nights) and holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensure (license to submit: Yes); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; experience working with children is required; ability to care for adult patients as well.
• Preferred Qualifications: None stated.
• Additional Information: The unit is a Pediatric / MST mixed unit where the ratio of adult and pediatric patients varies; the role must be willing to care for both age groups. Floating may be required based on census needs, including float to MCU or MST for adult MST patients. Cross-training may be required to support mom-baby couplets. Telemetry experience is required, and Registered Nurses must be able to read telemetry strips; bedside monitors are used for pediatric patients. Unit assignments include common diagnoses such as pediatric respiratory illnesses (e.g., RSV, influenza, COVID), seizures (chronic), dehydration, and adult MST conditions including COPD and pneumonia; no feeding tubes/trachs/vents are expected. Staff may assist to stabilize patients prior to transfer if needed. A dysrhythmia exam must be taken and passed within two attempts prior to signing the contract.
