Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care and support to residents in a skilled nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong nursing background with a focus on geriatric care.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver nursing care to residents, including medication administration and assessments.Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure and blood glucose levels.Administer various treatments and manage medical devices such as Foley catheters and feeding tubes.Conduct assessments for bowel sounds and manage bowel care.Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care and adherence to care plans.Input and manage patient information using PointClickCare.Implement infection control protocols and safety measures as per national patient safety goals.Assist in the management of residents with chronic conditions, including diabetes and respiratory issues.Participate in end-of-life care and support for residents and their families.Required QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred.Experience as a first-time traveler is acceptable, provided you have relevant skilled experience.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Previous experience with PointClickCare is required.Experience in Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) settings is required.Preferred QualificationsExperience in skilled rehabilitation centers, memory care, and managing complex conditions such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.Familiarity with various advanced nursing procedures including central line care, tracheostomy care, and wound management.Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.Background in community hospital settings is preferred.Previous charge nurse experience and experience in teaching hospitals is advantageous.Shifts and SchedulingThis position offers 36 hours of night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with an expected staffing ratio of 1:40 during night shifts. Weekend work is required every other weekend. No float or call requirements are associated with this position. A 24-hour unit orientation is part of the onboarding process.Patient DemographicsThe patient population primarily includes geriatric residents, with an average daily census of 36 in a 40-bed unit.ScrubsNavy blue scrubs are required for this position.
