Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN State Licensure Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, EKG competency for rhythm interpretation Must-Have: Candidates must possess RN state licensure and relevant certifications. Description: Unit features 17 beds to accommodate patients. The staff consists of a minimum of 7 members per shift, which may vary depending on census. Support staff includes 1 tech for every 7 patients, and 2 techs for 14 patients. Day shift typically includes 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1-3 sitters. Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 RNs, and 1-2 PCAs, with sitters as needed. Patient ratios depend on acuity and range from 1:2 to 1:4 for stepdowns or bedholds. Equipment used includes ventilators, CRRT, monitors, and IV pumps. The electronic medical record system in use is Epic. Candidates with critical care experience are preferred. Typical procedures performed include TLC, intubation, CRRT, TTM, stroke tPA administration, foley catheter insertion, CPR, defibrillation/cardioversion, and TEE. Ideal candidates should be easy-going yet attentive to detail. They should not hesitate to ask questions when unsure and must be willing team players. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs.
