We serve millions of customers with offerings ranging from satellite to streaming services and global to personal networking solutions.Hughes Network Systems, a global leader in broadband satellite technology based in Gaithersburg, MD, seeks an Operations Program Manager (OPM) reporting directly to the SVP of Operations.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Operations Program Manager will be responsible for facilitating new product introductions and managing each stage of the product development life cycle.What Success Looks Like (Objectives):Organize daily operational activities while initiating, executing, and closing complex NPI projectsDrive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Procurement to achieve product goalsDevelop production tooling, budgets, forecasts, cost targets, and sourcing strategies to optimize lifecycle buildsAnalyze product structures and Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure manufacturing accuracy; leverage AI-driven predictive tools to optimize schedulesMitigate potential risks, troubleshoot operational challenges, and present regular progress updates to executive leadershipSkills, Experience and RequirementsCore Skills and Competencies (What you'll bring):Extensive background leading complex NPI build activities and managing full product lifecyclesAdvanced proficiency in operational risk mitigation, program strategy, and cross-functional leadershipStrong analytical ability to evaluate BOM structures, manufacturing cost targets, and distribution strategiesPractical AI Application literacy to streamline workflows, enhance forecasting accuracy, and monitor project performanceExceptional communication, executive stakeholder management, and collaborative problem-solving expertiseAdditional Qualifications:Master's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related disciplineProficiency in SAP enterprise software along with advanced MS Office skillsMinimum Requirements:Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related fieldMinimum Experience: 5+ years of related work experience in operations program managementRequired Technical Skills:5+ years of experience managing NPI processes and product lifecycle build activities5+ years of experience managing product structures, BOM reviews, and manufacturing readiness5+ years of experience leading cross-functional project teams across engineering, procurement, and operationsVisa sponsorship not available for this positionCompensation: $97,500.00/Year - $130,000.00/YearWe offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: EchoStar Benefits.The base pay range shown is a guideline.
