Outside Plant Field Inspector — Broadband Coax & Fiber

Location: Miami, FL (Field-Based)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Employment Type: Contract

Your mission

• Be the independent quality gate for completed HFC and fiber builds across the territory.
• Confirm that outside plant construction matches engineering intent and quality standards.
• Flag issues, document deficiencies, and drive corrective actions with contractors and partners.
• Re-verify repaired work and close out audits with clear, complete records.

How you’ll spend your time

• 80% Field: Site inspections, rework verification, in-person coordination.
• 20% Remote: Documentation, audit closeouts, Teams meetings, and planning from your home office.

Tools you’ll use

• Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting
• Microsoft Teams for real-time communication
• Smartsheet and P2 for project tracking and assignment updates

Must-haves

• Direct experience with both coax (HFC) and fiber construction in telecom.
• Background in OSP, broadband, cable, or telecom construction environments.
• Ability to read/interpret telecom construction and design prints.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office; strong documentation and communication.
• Self-starter who can manage multiple field audits with minimal supervision.
• Reliable personal transportation and readiness to travel, including some overnights.

Nice-to-haves

• Network Maintenance Technician background.
• Hands-on telecom QA inspection or audit experience.
• Experience working with telecom contractors and business partners.
• Proficiency with Smartsheet and P2.

Field expectations

• Frequent travel within the Miami, FL territory; sites may be 3–4 hours away.
• Overnight travel when required (Client arranges hotel).
• Mileage reimbursement provided.
• Remain available during normal business hours to assist with troubleshooting and clearing inspections.

Key outcomes

• Accurate, timely audit closeouts with clear, actionable documentation.
• Deficiency trends surfaced early to stakeholders via Teams and Smartsheet.
• Consistent adherence to engineering standards across multiple projects.
