Head of AML Investigations | Austin | FinTech (Payments) | Hybrid Please note the successful candidate would need to relocation to Austin. Relocation package is available. We’re partnering with a leading global FinTech looking to appoint a Regional Lead for AML Investigations to lead and scale a significant Financial Crime operation across the Americas. This is not a purely strategic Compliance position. We’re looking for a hands-on AML operations leader who has managed sizeable investigative teams and can demonstrate exactly how they have improved processes, productivity, quality and performance. The Role You’ll take senior responsibility for a large-scale AML investigations operation, leading through managers and team leads while remaining close enough to the detail to drive meaningful operational improvements. Key responsibilities will include: Leading and developing a large, multi-layered AML investigations function Overseeing AML investigations, transaction monitoring and suspicious activity processes Driving operational excellence across productivity, quality and performance Translating strategic objectives into measurable KPIs and OKRs Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement Using data to improve investigative efficiency and scalability Partnering closely with Product, Engineering and Technology teams Building a high-performance culture across managers and their teams What We’re Looking For Strong background in AML Investigations / Financial Crime Operations Experience leading sizeable teams, ideally 50+ people with management layers beneath you Proven experience managing and developing managers/team leads Strong understanding of transaction monitoring, investigations and SAR processes Evidence of improving or transforming AML operations rather than simply maintaining them Experience with automation, technology-enabled change and process redesign Strong operational understanding of productivity, quality, training and performance management FinTech, payments or digital banking experience is preferred, although broader financial services backgrounds will be considered Willingness to be based in or relocate to Austin, Texas The Opportunity This is a highly visible leadership position within a growing global Financial Crime function. It would suit someone senior enough to lead a complex, layered organisation but still operationally involved and passionate about building, scaling and improving AML investigations.
