Overview Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology — Part-time Eye Care for Animals Far West (ECFA) is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. About You As a Vet Tech, you will play an important role in pets’ lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey, from hands-on outpatient treatments and laboratory tests to surgery assistance and helping with admitting and discharging patients. Job Overview The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Responsibilities include animal handling, pre- and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications. Qualifications Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required Licensed Technician preferred, but not required Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and using various monitoring equipment Team player Eager to learn and self-motivated Thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing) Ability to multi-task with a smile Benefits Competitive pay 401(k) with employer match Mental health resources Employer-sponsored childcare and elder care Pet perks and veterinary service discounts Compensation Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $25 per hour for non-licensed techs and $25-30 per hour for licensed techs.
