**Responsibilities:
**
- Maintain regular onsite attendance as an essential function of the position.
- Support and participate in all company safety programs, procedures, and activities.
- Follow daily preparation schedules and complete assigned work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Properly clean, maintain, and protect tooling and associated components.
- Complete tooling repairs from start to finish with minimal supervision and verify repairs against part prints and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common tooling issues accurately and efficiently.
- Complete, organize, and file all required maintenance and repair documentation in a timely manner.
- Assemble and disassemble tooling accurately and efficiently.
- Polish molds to meet established production and quality standards.
- Locate and retrieve tooling scheduled for maintenance, repair, or preparation.
- Complete all tasks associated with the standard preparation of tooling for production runs.
- Replace cavity components as required while maintaining proper fit and alignment.
- Prepare tooling and associated components for production setup.
- Maintain and replace water and oil lines as needed.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair water hoses and related connections.
- Maintain and repair tooling components, including slides, ejector pins, die cutters, and hydraulic cylinders.
- Fabricate Julian Date Screws and Annual Date Wheels.
- Rework cores and cavities, including welding, machining, and polishing operations.
- Perform welding operations to repair, modify, and restore tooling.
- Perform basic machine setups and operations on surface grinders, press-out presses, band saws, lathes, and mills.
- Fabricate and install standard cores and punches according to specifications.
- Fabricate fixtures for machining, inspection, assembly, and other tooling applications as directed.
- Apply trigonometric calculations and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to tool-making activities.
- Program and operate 2-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes.
- Modify and improve tooling to reduce scrap, defects, and rework while supporting production efficiency.
**Qualifications:
**
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience working in a Tool Room, preferably within a die casting or similar manufacturing environment.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Forklift, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hoist, and crane certifications.
- Strong mathematical skills applicable to machining and tool-making operations.
- Ability to read and interpret part prints, tooling drawings, and dimensional specifications.
