Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg/Telemetry
This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Neuro Medical/Surgical unit. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
Unit Information
- Location: South Austin, TX
- Unit Type: Neuro medical/surgical unit
- Number of Beds: 30
- Staffing: 60 staff members
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Shift: 12 hours (Night shift)
- Weekends: 4 shifts per schedule
Key Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:
- Monitoring patients and providing comprehensive nursing care.
- Participating in the assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documenting patient care using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

- Computer on Wheels (COW)
- Hoyer Lift
- PCA Pumps
- CareView Virtual Sitter
- Telepsych and Teleneuro technologies
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Current BLS certification
- IV Certification for LVNs
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
Preferred:
- ACLS certification

Dress Code
The dress code for this position is navy scrubs. Please note that hoop nose piercings are not permitted.
