Job Title: IT Project Manager | Scrum Master

Location: Washington, DC / 2 days a week onsite

Job Type: 6-month contract to hire

Compensation: $70.00 - $80.00 / Hourly / W2

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Position Summary

In this role, you will have an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the client to manage and lead enterprise projects. You will be part of a scrum team and work with other agile teams to contribute to the scrum backlog and execute projects in a transparent and open communication approach.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     Manage RFP/SOW process when onboarding vendors

2.     Manage and lead enterprise projects in support of your team and business colleagues.

3.     Contribute to a scrum backlog and execute projects in a transparent and open communication approach.

4.     Coach the team in using industry-standard Agile methodology and scrum practices and utilize best practices to help the team achieve customer satisfaction.

5.     Facilitate and/or assist the IT Product Owner with the various scrum meetings e.g., daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and sprint retrospective. 

6.     Assist the team to create/organize user stories and/or assist in testing to help them achieve the sprint goals.

7.     Lead a project team to a successful, quality deliverable, by working collaboratively to identify the right solution based on customer needs.

8.     Serve on multiple teams based on customer priorities and project needs, handling multiple responsibilities and roles simultaneously.

9.     Be responsible for managing project budgets and continually evaluate project estimates.

10. Manage vendor relationships and expectations when projects require third party integration.

11. Assist in the determination of sprint expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

12. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel but always be willing to jump-in to clear impediments and roadblocks impacting your team.

13. Proactively communicate and manage expectations and deliverables.

14. Provide IT consultation and make project recommendations and decisions, by having discussions with stakeholders and scrum team members.

15. Collaborate across IT, to ensure the success of your projects and those of your colleagues.

16. Perform identified project management activities per the standards of the IT Project Management Office.

17. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1.     Proven Project Management, business requirements/process experience in both Agile and waterfall methodologies.

2.     Strong working knowledge of enterprise software tools including JIRA, MS Project, Visio, SQL, and Microsoft O365.

3.     Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and is also independent, and self-directed towards a proactive solution approach.

4.     Exceptional customer focus, time management, verbal and written communication skills.

5.     Experience with software development processes, system interactions, with an ability to navigate complex systems.

6.     Proven experience coordinating or leading project initiatives

7.     Experience leading delivery of large‑scale data collection systems, data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence solutions.

8.     A willingness, desire, and aptitude to learn new technologies.

9.     A willingness to continually improve processes and share lessons learned.

10. Flexibility to adjust with shifting priorities and possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

11. Working knowledge/experience of the scrum framework, scrum values, and scrum process.

12. Possess excellent conflict resolution, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.     Scrum master certification, e.g. Scrum Alliance, PMI, or Scrum.org

2.     Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

3.     Experience with Microsoft Project Online (MSPOL)

4.     Experience with Microsoft Power BI

5.     Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or business administration 

6.     Experience with projects using .NET, SQL and MongoDB

7.     Some exposure or experience with Web Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Sitefinity and Sitecore

8.     Experience with Salesforce a plus
