Corrections Compliance Quality Improvement Analyst

Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:

IMPLEMENTATION
- Consults with facility/department leadership to assess the needs of the program necessary to implement systems of improvement. Informs facility supervisor(s) and department supervisors of findings.
- Collaborates with facility/department leadership to develop implementation plans for systems of improvement in conjunction with facility supervisor(s) and department supervisors.
- Documents and shares goals and steps of implementation plan with Program Quality Improvement (PQI) team. Documents goal progress and forwards document to Research Department for upload.
- Participates as a team member on the program’s PQI team. Completes all assigned tasks from PQI team in an accurate and timely manner.
- Utilizes appropriate tools and implementation frameworks to accurately identify problems, develop metrics for monitoring, assess progress of implementation plan, and evaluate achievement,
- Assists with the identification and implementation of appropriate assessment tools and sustainability plans to be utilized within the facility(s).
- Assists in identifying and developing appropriate client intervention strategies to facilitate successful outcomes.
- Collaborates to develop policies, procedures, and training programs promoting compliance and quality assurance, including monitoring for fidelity.
TRAINING, MENTORING, AND ONGOING COACHING
- Coordinates with the Staff Development Programming Manager and/or Organizational Development Manager in an effective and efficient manner.
- Completes new staff meetings as assigned through Kohezion task management and documents per department instructions.
- Demonstrates an understanding of all EBPs used at the Agency including, but not limited to: Effective Practices in Correctional Settings II, Cognitive Skills interventions and groups, Core Correctional Practices, Strategies for Effective Pretrial Supervision, Motivational Interviewing, Coaching Network for Change, Core Correctional Practices - Reimagined, Ohio Risk Assessment System tools, Individual Program Plan, and Behavior Management System
- Becomes a certified coach in EBPs as directed by supervisor including, but not limited to: Effective Practices in Correctional Settings II, Cognitive Skills interventions and groups, Core Correctional Practices, Strategies for Effective Pretrial Supervision, Motivational Interviewing, Coaching Network for Change, Core Correctional Practices - Reimagined, Ohio Risk Assessment System tools, Individual Program Plan, and Behavior Management System
- Conducts quality assurance (both scheduled and unscheduled) for assigned EBPs to ensure effective delivery.
- Provides ongoing formal and documented education and training for employees in the use of EBPs.
- Conducts ad hoc trainings to meet the needs of programs and staff (e.g., staff meeting trainings, BMC trainings, etc.).
- Demonstrates ability to model effective interactions with clients on a consistent basis.
- Serves as a resource for staff by providing guidance and support on compliance-related matters and EBP implementation.
- Completes staff coaching sessions as assigned through Kohezion task management and documents per department instructions.
- Assists employees with implementing cognitive thinking and cognitive behavioral techniques to counteract the use of destructive thinking patterns in accordance with cognitive behavioral strategies.
- Provides on-the-job coaching to employees through a variety of coaching methods including, but not limited to: direct observation, audio review, one on one meetings, unit observations, documentation review feedback and informal training.
- Mentors and assists facility supervisors and peer coaches in developing proficiency in evidence-based practices (EBPs) to ensure sustainability.
- Collaborates with supervisors to select and implement tailored intervention strategies aligned with professional development goals.
- Evaluates employees’ EBP implementation and monitors overall progress towards goals.
- Assists program supervisors in identifying and certifying peer coaches.
- Utilizes technology, including audio/video recording and ORION systems, to monitor staff interactions and EBP delivery effectively.
DATA
- Utilizes Kohezion for tracking proficiency progress accurately and timely.
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of STATA and spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
- Enters and maintains data in databases as directed by department supervisors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assists with the development and utilization of Agency dashboards and spreadsheets for tracking and presenting data.
- Initiates and completes required reports accurately and timely as requested by supervisor.
- Compiles quality improvement data promptly, ensuring timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports as directed by department supervisors.
- Monitors documentation for form, content, and legibility to ensure data fidelity and accuracy.
- Analyzes data comprehensively to evaluate program outcomes and identify areas for improvement. EVALUATION AND IMPROVEMENT
- Evaluates facility operations and implementation with audit standards, keeping legal requirements in mind.
- Conducts regular assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Researches, plans, and conducts reviews to evaluate practices and standards. Makes recommendations based upon those findings.
- Assists with audit preparation with department supervisors’ approval and meets with external auditors as needed.
- Leverages current research findings and Agency reports to improve program enhancement strategies.
- Develops and utilizes departmental instruction sheets.
- Conducts quality assurance and analyzes department processes.
- Utilizes department tools, such as the After Action Review and What’s the Issue Form, to assess and improve department processes.
- Evaluates program EBP proficiency achievement and its ability to sustain proficiency without intensive assistance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop policies, procedures, and training programs that promote compliance and quality assurance.
- Reviews and recommends revisions of program procedures to facility supervisor(s).
- Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
- Maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and employees.
- Facilitates and maintains productive communication while maintaining a professional, prosocial relationship with clients and employees.
- De-escalates potentially volatile situations between clients or employees when necessary utilizing appropriate EBPs and interventions.
- Utilizes department tools, such as Closing the Feedback Loop form, to communicate concerns with facility leadership.
- Provides input into disciplinary actions and action plans if necessary, following outlined communication process.
- Effectively conducts internal and external trainings. Participates in the development and/or presentation of workshops/trainings at outside conferences after proper approval is given.
- Identifies and clarifies major facility and critical client incidents. Takes appropriate and immediate action; documents them appropriately; and informs direct supervisor of status of situation.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records, documents, and outside correspondence according to Agency specifications.
- Expresses empathy regarding client situations as appropriate.
- Verbalizes prosocial thinking. Recognizes prosocial thinking and behaviors. Reinforces clients’ prosocial thinking and behaviors within program guidelines.
- Recognizes antisocial thinking and behaviors and attempts to extinguish them in a non-threatening manner.
SECURITY AND SAFETY
- Complies with all Agency security standards, including procedures and electronic equipment/devices.
- Performs job duties in a safe and conscientious manner. Complies with safety policies and procedures; utilizes safety precautions for hazardous conditions (e.g., wet floor signs, rock salt, and safety signage); uses required PPE; communicates any unsafe practices and conditions to supervisor and remedies what is within scope of job; participates in safety drills, and attends safety training.
OTHER
- Ensures clients’ rights are upheld. Maintains client and staff confidentiality according to Agency policies and procedures; state law; and federal regulations to include Confidentiality on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients Records, 42 C.F.R. Part 2 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA"), 45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164.
- Adjusts schedule in order to provide services to all program staff regardless of shift. Notifies direct supervisor of schedule changes.
- Travels as part of department rotation schedule to local/regional areas in order to meet the needs of all facilities/programs.
- Attends and participates in team meetings, Advisory Board meetings, internal and external committee meetings, and task forces as necessary.
- Manages time and organizes work demands appropriately. Meets established deadlines.
- Prepares and maintains accurate, organized, and updated individual files and records, individual progress notes, and outside correspondence according to Agency specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement, staff training/mentoring, and/or Evidence Based Practices implementation preferred. Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite and effectively complete data tracking. Experience in database management, statistical software, and project management is a plus. Must have reliable transportation and a driving record that does not preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance. Must have the cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem solving, and comprehending. Has the ability to perform under stress and/or in emergencies. Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
Starting rate: $21.00 (bachelor's degree)
