Job Title: TIG Welder

$25 - $35 /hr | Danville, IN

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel tubing, pipe, and structural components in accordance with project specifications and welding procedures.
• Weld sanitary process tubing following project drawings, welding procedures, and applicable standards.
• Fabricate custom stainless steel equipment, including process skids, tanks, heat exchangers, piping assemblies, and support structures.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, isometric piping drawings, and fabrication prints to plan and execute work accurately.
• Fit, align, tack, and assemble components prior to final welding to ensure proper fit-up and alignment.
• Perform orbital weld preparation when required, ensuring components are properly prepared for automated welding processes.
• Maintain proper weld purge techniques and cleanliness during welding to achieve high-quality internal and external welds.
• Inspect completed welds for appearance, penetration, and overall quality, making adjustments as needed to meet quality expectations.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, belt sanders, drill presses, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow established procedures and best practices to maintain a clean and organized work area and support consistent, high-quality output.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of TIG welding experience, preferably with sanitary stainless steel applications.
• Proficiency welding 304L and 316L stainless steel materials.
• Ability to weld thin-wall tubing without distortion while maintaining structural integrity and appearance.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, isometric piping drawings, and welding prints.
• Hands-on experience with TIG welding techniques on stainless steel tubing, pipe, and structural components.
• Ability to perform fit-up, alignment, tacking, and assembly of components prior to final welding.
• Capability to maintain proper weld purge techniques and cleanliness during welding operations.
• Experience operating fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, belt sanders, drill presses, and layout tools.

Work Environment

You will work in a super clean shop that is climate controlled and kept cool to support comfort and precision. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The environment supports detailed fabrication work with access to TIG welding equipment, stainless steel fabrication tools, and a well-organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon, IN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Avon,IN.
