RN - IDD NURSING

Overview As an RN with OPWDD, you will provide direct patient care in six group homes, following MD orders while maintaining flexible scheduling. You will provide professional nursing services including direct care in health maintenance, nutrition, activities of daily living, and illness prevention. Primary Functions Nursing interventions and documentation Case finding Health teaching and counseling Supportive and/or restorative care Additional Functional / Organizational Support Participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and serve as a member of a treatment team. You may supervise subordinate professional, paraprofessional, and support staff and maintain inventory standards for medicines, controlled drugs, and narcotics. Qualifications and Attributes Prior experience with electronic health records, including electronic MARs (training provided) Perform other duties as assigned BLS and fire safety training Physical ability to lift and transfer patients Valid NYS driver’s license with acceptable driving record for the agency Must be cleared and maintain an acceptable record under the NYS OPWDD criminal background check process Education and Experience Current, valid NY RN license Associate’s degree Physical Characteristics Must be capable of sitting or standing in front of a computer for extended periods Must be able to work in an open‑space floor plan and follow clients throughout the community Must work alongside co‑workers within 3 feet and maneuver in tight spaces Occasional lifting of up to 25+ pounds Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities Compensation & Benefits Location: Middletown, NY Pay Rate: $42.50 per hour Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000 payable after 3 and 6 months Hours: Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (no weekends, no holidays) An Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and Veterans. #J-18808-Ljbffr
