Apply Today!   Where You Will Work  Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. What You Will DoUnder general supervision, supervise, coordinate and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit through subordinate Supervisors.Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedulesProvide Operations input for production and maintenance planningEnsure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulationsInspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attainedCoordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including but not limited to Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and SalesDirectly supervise first-line or shift SupervisorsPerform other duties as requiredWhat You Bring To FreeportHigh School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, ORBachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experienceAdditional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be requiredKnowledge of supervisory methods and techniquesSkilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projectsSkilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administrationAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standardsMust be able to work in a potentially stressful environmentWork is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particlesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and seeOccasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workdayPersonal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as requiredFreeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State LawsPreferred Qualifications:Electrical & Instrumentation Expertise5+ years of experience at the journeyman level in electrical and instrumentation maintenance.Strong working knowledge of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems and instrumentation.Production / Maintenance BackgroundDemonstrated experience in milling operations or fixed plant maintenance.Familiarity with industrial processing equipment, preventive maintenance practices, and plant reliability principles.Additional Skills:Strong commitment to safety and compliance in an industrial environmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDsExperience with predictive and preventive maintenance programsExcellent communication and team coordination skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced production environmentWhat We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000 - $145,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
