Head Teller Regular Full Time 5.15 UBOS Parkersburg WV - Division St, Parkersburg, WV, US 6 days ago Requisition ID: 5020 Job Purpose This position is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the branch teller area and support of the overall branch operational soundness. It serves a vital role in helping the branch obtain goals by coaching and developing new and veteran tellers, teaching new skills, expanding knowledge, and assisting the Branch Manager with bank expectations and standards. Job Duties Lead by example. Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the branch teller line, including scheduling to ensure proper coverage, meeting referral goals, and overseeing operational standards. Serve as the branch point person for audit preparation based on Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring the entire branch team follows procedures and is educated on updates. Assist the manager to ensure the branch passes all audits. Provide coaching to assist in the development of the teller line team and others. Monitor performance and report to management. Assist Branch Manager with hiring of branch teller line staff. Deliver superior customer service with a friendly demeanor, can‑do attitude, and willingness to help at all times. Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer business confidential. Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs, refer customers to platform associates within the branch, and meet established referral goals. Maintain balancing and error records in line with policy, find and correct outages, and enlist help as needed for difficult errors. Receive checks and cash for deposit to savings and checking accounts, verify deposit amounts, and examine checks for endorsement and negotiability. Process complex multi‑step teller transactions. Define and offer solutions to resolve problems, using knowledge of the organization to identify helpful resources and provide follow‑up to customers, branch staff, and/or internal partners on resolution. Follow operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance. Consistently complete required training for bank and branch policies and procedures. Make sales calls via phone or accessible video conferencing systems to clients and/or prospects on a weekly basis to meet calling goals, recording activities in Salesforce. Maintain a well‑developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered. Meet scheduled working hours as designated by manager to ensure effective functionality of the branch. Adhere to Retail Branch Standards, including dress code. Perform special projects as assigned. Education, Experience and Job Skills High School Diploma or GED. 1+ years related work experience in customer service. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with high accuracy and close attention to detail. Trustworthy and confidential behavior is essential. Proficient in basic computer operations and standard applications, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate job‑specific software. Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive and professional attitude. Ability to address and coach co‑workers to be better. Client focused. Proven team player. Daily flexible and reliable transportation. Role requires consistent standing; bending or squatting may be required to access night drops, coin machines, vaults, ATM, etc., based on the branch setup. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently. Must be able to travel to attend internal education and meetings, which may include overnight stays and multiple hours of travel, and to fill in at other branches as needed. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 1+ years related work experience in customer service. Daily flexible and reliable transportation. Role requires consistent standing; bending or squatting may be required to access night drops, coin machines, vaults, ATM, etc., based on the branch setup. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently.
