Production GIS Specialist

Organization: GeoAcuity Title: Production GIS Specialist Location: Sacramento, CA Position Summary GeoAcuity, LLC is seeking a GIS Specialist (Production) to coordinate hardware/software quality control, manage data collection technologies, and oversee GIS production workflows in support of Reclamation water resource and environmental management missions. The role requires coordinating with hardware and software vendors to ensure a problem‑free GIS environment, implementing quality control procedures for all GIS production output, overseeing the work of associate specialists and data technicians, maintaining proper data backups, approving and releasing final product databases, maps, and reports as delegated by the Service Center Manager, and assisting in user/project setup, accounting, and security. The position works on a variety of Reclamation projects, creates schemas and workflow procedures for enterprise GIS operations, and manages various data collection technologies within an interdisciplinary GIS team. Responsibilities Coordinate with hardware and software vendors to maintain a reliable GIS environment. Implement and oversee quality control procedures for all GIS production output. Oversee procedures performed by associate specialists and data technicians. Monitor and ensure proper data backups are maintained. Approve and release final product databases, maps, and reports as delegated by the Service Center Manager. Assist in preparing and implementing user/project setup, accounting, and security. Perform mapping and database management functions across a variety of Reclamation projects. Create schemas and workflow procedures for enterprise GIS operations. Manage various data collection technologies while working independently and within an interdisciplinary GIS team. Required Qualifications BA/BS in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Science (comparable experience accepted). 3+ years of experience with Python, Arcade, and/or ModelBuilder. Demonstrated working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and Spatial Analyst. Experience with ArcGIS Online administration. Demonstrated geography, mapping, and cartography skills. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to pass a federal background check prior to start date. Preferred Qualifications Relevant Esri training within the past 2 years: ArcGIS Pro, Building Geodatabases, Cartographic Production, ESRI 3D Creation/Analysis, or Modernizing Field Workflows using FieldMaps. Experience with ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE configuration. Familiarity with Reclamation or federal natural resource GIS data standards.
