Smartdept. is searching for a Marketing Communications Specialist for a healthcare client, fully remote across the US. The ideal candidate will come with 3 to 10 years of experience. This is a fully remote contract opportunity.

This role is approximately 60% project management and 40% marketing communications. The ideal candidate will support the execution of marketing communications initiatives while also helping with strategic planning. This is primarily an execution focused role: the candidate will work from existing plans and strategies, move projects forward, coordinate with cross functional teams, and ensure communications are completed accurately and on schedule.

What You'll Do:

Manage marketing communications projects from planning through execution. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions. Execute against established marketing and communications plans. Support broader strategic planning initiatives. Develop, organize, and coordinate marketing communications content. Manage timelines, deliverables, approvals, and stakeholder expectations. Navigate regulatory and compliance requirements throughout the communications process. Collaborate effectively in a highly cross-functional environment. Help ensure content and communications meet appropriate regulatory standards.

Additional responsibilities include sharing and applying marketing communications best practices across teams, leading the annual communication plan, coordinating new project requirements and scope with internal customers, defining roles and the customer journey for campaigns, managing the end-to-end creative process (including document management for regulatory approval), managing agency collaboration and timelines, and communicating project status, issues, and risks to the right audience.

What You'll Need:

Education/Experience: Minimum BA/BS degree, PMP or similar certification preferred. 3 to 10 years of cross-functional project management and/or marketing communications experience. Experience working with Legal, Privacy, Regulatory, or Clinical departments to approve content.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Highly organized, strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working independently and remotely with multiple internal and external partners. Experienced executing established plans rather than building strategy from scratch. Understands review, approval, compliance, and regulatory processes. Able to balance project management with hands-on communications work.

Industry Experience: Strong preference for med tech or healthcare. Other regulated industries considered with relevant experience. Familiarity with FDA regulations highly valuable.

Technology/Platforms: Experience with or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Viva, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Box, and Smartsheet.

Nice to Have Skills: Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments, excellent communication and organizational skills across all stakeholder levels, presentation design and email marketing platform experience (Knak), and experience with shared project management software and AI tools.

Work Arrangement: 100% remote within the United States, with potential travel to Orlando for the annual commercial meeting.
