In-House Neurosurgical Trauma Call APP (Advanced Practice Provider)

We are searching for compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team as a Full‑Time In‑House Neurosurgical Trauma Call Advanced Practice Provider. We are a private practice where you will work closely with a highly sub‑specialized group of neurosurgeons and residents, playing a key role in the global management of neurosurgical patients. General Job Summary Advanced practice providers support all aspects of pre‑, intra‑ and post‑operative care for neurosurgical patients. You will perform patient histories, formulate treatment plans, and manage post‑operative care under the supervision of the attending neurosurgeon. The position works in tandem with other APPs on a 7 on 7 off rotating afternoon and overnight shift schedule. Candidates should be well‑rounded with a solid background in emergency medicine, trauma, and/or surgery. Essential Job Responsibilities Perform comprehensive, problem‑focused histories and physical examinations Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests; correlate subjective and objective data Formulate differential diagnoses and establish a working diagnosis Develop treatment plans for emergent, acute, and chronic neurosurgical conditions within scope of practice in consultation with the attending neurosurgeon Implement therapeutic interventions where appropriate Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising neurosurgeon or other physicians Collaborate with in‑house and at‑home on‑call junior and senior neurosurgical residents Hospital Duties & Responsibilities Perform initial trauma, ED, ICU, and floor consults Formulate treatment plans and consult with attending neurosurgeon and resident when on‑call Manage calls from Atrium Physician Referral Line, outlying EDs, hospitals, and consulting physicians Arrange and manage transfer of patients requiring emergent and acute neurosurgical care Manage calls from established Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine outpatients Order appropriate radiographic studies Evaluate post‑operative patients Review radiographic and laboratory reports for abnormalities Screen and counsel patients on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources Design, conduct, and/or participate in research studies Maintain databases and perform quality assurance activities Apply core values in decision‑making and interactions with all individuals Promote a positive work environment through effective teamwork Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request Requirements Valid NC PA or FNP license (required) Schedule: Rotating shifts (afternoons: 2 pm–2 am; overnight: 6 pm–6 am) #J-18808-Ljbffr Euna Grants, Powered by eCivis
