Position AXIS is hiring a Claims Specialist – Primary Casualty for its North America Claim Team. This role involves managing primary claims for AXIS U.S. Primary Casualty policies. The individual will manage claims by investigating, analyzing, and evaluating coverage and liability for third-party primary casualty claims. Responsibilities Assess claims within a specialized area to determine coverage, liability, and settlement value. Evaluate coverage and claim exposure, determine appropriate actions, and pursue claims until resolution. Set accurate and timely claim reserves and refer to the Claim Manager where necessary. Manage the lifecycle of a claim from notification to closure, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. Review relevant policies, validate coverage for claims by analyzing policy wordings, and escalate issues for further resolution. Draft coverage positions to be reviewed and approved by the Claim Manager. Work closely with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and brokers to ensure premier, best-practices claim service, escalating issues as appropriate. What We're Looking For / Qualifications Be recognized as a subject matter expert in claims within their area of specialization. Interpret and apply policy provisions accurately in various claim scenarios. Coordinate with teams to review and enhance claims processes effectively. Manage the complete lifecycle of a claim with attention to detail and accuracy. Collaborate with external parties to gather information and resolve claims. Commit to continuous professional development in the field of claims management. Implement strategies to improve claims handling efficiency and customer satisfaction. Document claim activities and decisions comprehensively for audit support. Role Factors This role requires you to be in the office 3 days per week and adhere to AXIS licensing requirements. What We Offer Base salary range: $75,000 to $130,000, with offer based on experience and location. Competitive target incentive compensation based on corporate and individual performance.
