Molecular Biology Scientist - NGS & Assay QC

We are seeking a detail-oriented Scientist II to manage dynamic molecular biology projects in a cGMP laboratory setting. This 1-year onsite role offers the opportunity to drive day-to-day lab workflows, run advanced molecular assays, and contribute to continuous process improvements with potential for long-term conversion.

responsibilities:

• Manage and prioritize multiple laboratory projects, experimental tasks, and product builds simultaneously under minimal supervision.
• Perform, analyze, and document molecular techniques including qPCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, thermal cycling, and genetic analysis.
• Operate, maintain, and train personnel on laboratory instrumentation, SAP system transactions, and specific software tools.
• Update and maintain SOPs, equipment logs, and quality documentation in strict compliance with cGMP, GDP, and safety standards.
• Apply Lean and continuous improvement concepts to optimize laboratory operations and resolve technical problems.

 
qualifications:
Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional laboratory experience (non-academic/post-grad preferred) with hands-on lab training.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and project lead experience.
• Ability to work at the lab bench, handle blood/blood byproducts using universal precautions, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Preferred:

• Direct experience in molecular biology, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), and scientific data analysis.
