Silgan Dispensing Systems
Position Summary Position is responsible for ensuring product meets Silgan, Slatersville customer specifications. Performs first piece inspection utilizing various inspection techniques and instruments, following the quality plan and applicable quality, manufacturing, and safety procedures. Reports unusually high percent of defective parts. Performs in‑process audits to visual standards, determines product conformance, and when non‑conforming, identifies inspection status, reviews prior production, and ensures conformance to molding line clearance and order packet information. Assists operators in training and development in areas of quality and decision‑making, maintains a neat and orderly work area, keeps walkways and aisles clear, and performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal. When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Solid understanding of test equipment. Minimum of 2-5 years of inspection and/or production experience. Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information. Quality Management Responsibilities All employees are responsible for ensuring that quality issues arising from their own activities are managed according to the QMS, customer requirements, the quality policy and procedures, and good management practices. All employees have the authority to bring about change to the QMS (including corrective action) in conjunction with Silgan top management and the Quality Manager. All employees shall ensure clear and effective communication with coworkers and supervisors to maintain the integrity of the quality management processes.
