Clinical Nurse Coordinator Progressive Care Unit

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Progressive Care Unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to a diverse progressive care population while coordinating the daily clinical operations of the unit. As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will serve as a clinical resource and leader at the bedside, supporting staff nurses, patient care technicians, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, titration of IV medications within scope, management of complex medical-surgical and step-down level patients, and timely response to changes in patient condition. You will assist with patient throughput, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, case management, and other disciplines to develop and execute individualized care plans.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will help support staff scheduling and assignments, precept and mentor new team members, and promote adherence to clinical standards, policies, regulatory requirements, and quality and safety initiatives. You will actively participate in performance improvement projects, core measures compliance, and implementation of best-practice protocols for progressive care and early recognition of patient deterioration. In partnership with unit leadership, you will contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative work environment that reflects Mission Health’s culture of teamwork, respect, and professional growth. This includes supporting ongoing staff education, encouraging professional certification, and modeling effective communication and conflict resolution.
