Special Education Teacher (K-2 Exceptional Children Classroom)

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a self-contained K-2 Exceptional Children (EC) classroom. The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and educational support to students with diverse learning needs while collaborating with school staff, families, and support personnel to help students achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Position Overview

This role serves students in a structured classroom environment designed to support academic, behavioral, social, communication, and independent living skill development. The classroom is supported by two teaching assistants, providing a collaborative team approach to student success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instructional programs aligned with student IEPs

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting

• Monitor student progress and maintain required educational documentation

• Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families

• Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and communication development

• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning

• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, district, and professional standards

• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Schedule

• School-based position

• Monday through Friday

• Bell schedule: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM

• 37.5 hours per week

• 10-month contract
