One of the fastest-growing independent insurance distribution platforms in the United States. The company operates at significant scale: 200,000+ agents across the country, 70+ FMO and IMO relationships, and approximately 300 carrier partnerships. It is expanding rapidly and has built a national footprint through a model centered on independent distribution.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is the executive responsible for Contracting & Incentive Compensation (C&IC) for the entire enterprise. The function owns the end-to-end lifecycle of agent contracting, licensing, and commission management across a 200,000+ agent population and a complex, multi-tier distribution structure.

This function sits at the center of how the business scales. The person who owns it will be a direct voice to executive leadership. It is a career-defining scope of work, and there is nothing quite like it in the distribution space. The company is positioned to grow, and this role grows with it.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• End-to-end agent contracting and licensing across 200,000+ agents and 70+ FMO/IMO partners

• Incentive compensation design, administration, and accuracy for one of the largest independent agent populations in the country

• Carrier relationship management across approximately 300 carrier partners

• A team of approximately 100 people with full ownership of hiring, development, and performance

• Process standardization and technology enablement across the contracting and compensation lifecycle

• Regulatory compliance, including state licensing requirements and Market Conduct exam readiness

WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR

• Background in individual insurance distribution, Medicare, life, or annuity, through independent channels. FMO or IMO side strongly preferred. Carrier-side experience without meaningful FMO exposure is a gap this role will surface quickly.

• Experience managing agent contracting and licensing at significant scale. This is a 200,000+ agent population. If the largest environment you've owned was a fraction of that, this is not the right fit.

• Fluency in multi-tier distribution hierarchy, managing FMOs who manage IMOs who manage agents. Direct-to-agent contracting experience alone does not prepare someone for this structure.

• Ownership of commission systems and compensation platforms, including payout accuracy, carrier reconciliation, and technology administration. Designing comp plans is not the same as owning the infrastructure that runs them.

• Direct accountability for regulatory compliance: state licensing administration, Market Conduct exam ownership, and audit readiness. Candidates who have sat adjacent to compliance but not owned it will find this scope unfamiliar.

• SILA designation (Society of Insurance Licensing Administrators) is a meaningful signal here; not a checkbox. Candidates unfamiliar with SILA should assess carefully whether this environment is the right match.

• Proven ability to lead large, operationally complex teams of 50 or more people in a high-growth, high-volume environment.

• Executive presence and the ability to operate as a strategic peer to senior leadership. This role is a direct voice up, not a reporting layer.
