Springs, foam, adjustable beds, machinery – our Bedding businesses design, produce, and supply innovative sleep solutions that help you rest comfortably. Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and compliance activities on station equipment and mechanical systems. Complete advance maintenance and repair task including plumbing electrical, carpentry, painting, and general handyman work. Assist with preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working conditions. Using electrical testing equipment to verify continuity, voltage, resistance, and AC/DC circuit performance. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical and electrical issues. Ability to perform MIG, stick and/or welding process as required. Respond and complete work orders and maintenance requests in a timely matter. Repair or replace advanced fixtures, hardware, lighting and building components. Support facility moves, equipment installation, and special projects and assigned. Maintain accurate maintenance and documentation. Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate. Qualifications: Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED 5+ years’ experience repairing facility equipment in a manufacturing environment or the military. Previous maintenance, facilities construction, or related experience preferred. Technical training or trade school education is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic knowledge of building maintenance practices. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safety. Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry system. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as a part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety Good communication and customer skills. Commitiment to L&P Safety and Environmental initiatives. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools Ability to be exposed to mechanical equipment, noise, dust, and varying environmental conditions.
