Job Summary And Qualifications The Nursing Manager, in collaboration with the Director, is responsible for the clinical and financial outcomes of the unit. The manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit, including promoting positive patient, employee and physician satisfaction. The manager will assist the unit director to meet or exceed the monthly operating budget. The manager, in collaboration with the appropriate clinical educator/resource, will assure appropriate unit orientation and ongoing staff competency. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. The roles and responsibilities will be primarily in a managerial, administrative role with clinical responsibilities based on the needs of the unit and may be adjusted from time to time to accommodate the changing needs of the unit. You will manage unit operations. You will manage unit personnel activities You will coordinate inter and intra departmental activities of the unit. You will develop a professional climate within the nursing unit/units. You will maintain supplies and medications. PAR levels and ordering. You will be responsible for daily KRONOS upkeep. You will maintain position control reports and PLUS productivity. You will ensure daily Central/EMTALA log is accurate and complete. Interface directly with administration, physicians, public, staff, and all members of the health care team. You will represent unit and administration. Regular and predictable attendance is required. What qualifications you will need: Current Texas RN License or a Compact RN license from a NCLA Compact State. New hires have 90 days from start date to obtain Texas RN License BLS certifications required as per St. David's HealthCare policy. As a Registered Nurse caring for acute stroke and trauma patients, you will be required to: Complete assigned stroke and trauma education upon hire and maintain annual stroke and trauma education per your unit direction Bachelors Degree- Nursing required 3+ years of experience as Charge RN, Coordinator, or Supervisor St. David's Georgetown Hospital is a comprehensive healthcare facility located north of Austin, Texas.
