Experienced Auto Glass Installation Technician

Overview As an Experienced Auto Glass Technician, you will serve on the front line’ of the Safelite customer experience, bringing advanced technical expertise and a strong sense of ownership to every job. This role suits a highly skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional service. You will leverage your deep industry knowledge, along with Safelite’s cutting-edge tools, training, and technology, to perform complex repairs, replacements, and recalibrations—both in‑shop and through our Mobile Glass Shop services. Responsibilities Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service. Clean customer vehicles after each job. Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing. Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), mandatory chemicals, Safelite Way of Fitting procedures, work order and customer administration systems, and the handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology. Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday. Communicate with all scheduled customers in‑person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Compensation & Benefits Competitive weekly pay, ranging from $25.25 to $33.50 per hour. Benefits package valued at more than $10,000, including a 401(k) plan with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, and volunteer days. View all health, wealth, and life offerings at Education & Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Valid state‑issued driver’s license (and any other required license(s)). Safelite SafeTech™ certification. Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred). Skills & Abilities Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws, subject to in‑cab vehicle safety camera and video surveillance monitoring. Maintains professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service and exceeding expectations. Ability to safely work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods. Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals, as applicable per the Safelite Way of Fitting. Ability to work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs. Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues. Problem‑solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively. Ability to read, write and interpret the English language and technical directions. Ability to communicate orally (via phone) and in writing (via computer or other electronic means). Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company uniform and PPE policies. Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition. Additional Information This position involves driving duties that will be monitored through cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
