GIS Analyst IIILocation: Naperville, IL Work Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 day remote) Contract- 3 Years Client- Nicor GasPosition SummaryThe GIS Analyst III will develop a strong understanding of current GIS data environments, workflows, and business processes to design and implement solutions for data integrations, transformations, and deliverables. This role supports GIS data analysis, data mining, technical support, database design, and maintenance to meet both internal and external customer requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to solve complex problems, recommend optimal data processing strategies, and support enterprise-level GIS initiatives within a utility or pipeline environment.Key ResponsibilitiesGIS Data Analysis & DevelopmentPerform advanced GIS analysis, modeling, and database designConduct data mining to meet customer requirements and specificationsGenerate specialized queries, maps, and reportsProcess, prepare, convert, and migrate spatial and tabular dataMaintain and update GIS databasesUtility & Pipeline GIS SupportApply linear referencing techniques and conceptsWork with Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM)Support Utility Network and ArcGIS Enterprise environmentsPerform QA/QC on versioned data prior to production deploymentAutomation & Technical SupportCreate and maintain automated processes using Model Builder, Python scripting, or other toolsPerform application testing and document defectsDevelop testing scripts and execute validation proceduresInterface with users to gather requirements and document requested system changesProcess Improvement & InnovationAnalyze current business processes and recommend best-practice solutionsIdentify new GIS technologies, processes, or applications to enhance operationsSupport inter- and intra-departmental GIS improvementsEducation & Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in Geography (GIS), Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years of experience in industry-standard GIS OR GIS certificate with 3+ years of related work experiencePreferred: 1+ year experience in utility or pipeline GIS environmentsTechnical SkillsAdvanced ProficiencyEsri ArcGIS ProEsri ArcGIS 10.2xLinear ReferencingMS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)Intermediate ProficiencyFME (Safe Software)Esri ArcGIS EnterpriseUtility NetworkModel BuilderPythonSQL RDBMSBasic ProficiencyAutoCAD / CADDVisual Basic / VBASharePoint
