Plumbing Engineer/Designer

Job Summary The Plumbing Designer/ Engineer serves to focus primarily on the design of building related projects, including hotels, apartment buildings, retail/commercial spaces, and educational facilities using Revit and AutoCAD software. General Duties Design domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and medical gas systems for various facility types Conduct field investigations to assess existing conditions and gather project data Ensure quality control, scheduling, and delivery of plumbing design documents Coordinate and communicate effectively with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams Perform pipe sizing, pressure loss calculations, equipment selection, and code compliance analysis Qualifications You have demonstrated experience coordinating design with multiple disciplines and stakeholders You have 3 to 5 years of experience in plumbing design and construction You have a solid understanding of plumbing systems layout, fixture selection, and equipment specifications You are comfortable performing flow calculations, pipe routing, and fixture unit counts You are familiar with applicable plumbing codes (IPC, UPC), accessibility guidelines, and water/energy efficiency standards You have experience working on healthcare, education, hospitality, or commercial projects Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills for design and specifications Proficiency in Revit Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors Location: Houston, TX Travel: Less than 10% Compensation and Benefits: This role is eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays Wellness programs and employee assistance resources Equal Opportunity Employment Statement Salas O’Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state/provincial, or local laws.
